19th Amendment Mural

This new mural celebrates 100 years since the passing of the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote. The mural is of Beth Johnson, the first female state senator in FL and Mary Mcleod Bethune, the founder of Bethune-Cookman University.

Location: Burton’s facing the laundrymat parking lot. 801 East Washington St in Thornton Park.Artists: It was painted by @wisporlando a group of women artists: @sara_berlin_art, @b.creative.daily, @brunchzilla and @kristipaintsorlando. These kick-ass 💪 women painted this mural for weeks in the summer heat.

Behind the scenes: I planned all week to visit this mural but when I did – it was blocked by a big van parked in front of it. So I just had to just roll with it. I wish I could have got a photo of the whole mural.
